Just for you and all the others who are stupid (an attribute, not a name) I
pulled a tire off and checked the rim. Maximum load: 2,000 pounds. Maximum
PSI: 55 PSI. Therfefore, inflating to the maximum rated TIRE PSI of 50 PSI
is absolutely SAFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Filling it to 50 PSI gives a load rating
of 2200 pounds. With 4 tires that is 8800 pounds (get out your calculator
to check my math). Seeing as the truck weighs about 5,500 I have no need to
inflate to that pressure.
Ignorant: lacking information, can be remedied by giving information.
Stupid: rejecting information, giving a response that is not in correlation
to question asked, deliberately refuses to receive information
Both stupid and ignorant are attributes, not names.
Now, if anybody has a '99 series ('95 - '99 I believe) SUBURBAN, 4wd, 1/2
ton with FACTORY LT tires, can you please simply give me the recommended
pressure for LT tires? If you do not have this simple information, please
do not demonstrate, prove, confirm how stupid you are by giving other,
non-asked for information!

I see where "Mike Dobony" <sword@notasarian-host.net> contributed:

And if I said your manner was both stupid and ignorant insofar as your
response to the suggestions offered, would you take that as a
compliment?

For what it is worth, I have a 1999, K1500 4-WD, GMC Suburban.
My door tag says 35 PSI Cold for P245/75-16 tires on both front and rear.
I have had both P & LT on it and (right or wrong) run them both at the same
pressure.
My 1 Ton Chev chassis 23' Class-C RV calls for LT245/75-16 (same size, but
LT) and the door tag calls for 50 PSI front and 55 PSI rear duals COLD.

Wow. I'd expect it to say a lot more than 55 in the rears duals. How
much does a 23' Class C weigh?

It sounds about right. My 19' Class B with only four tires needs about 75-80
lbs in the pair on the rear axle.

According to the inflation charts, that tire can support 4250, so that
means it can carry 8500 lbs on the axle. On the front it can carry
2205, that's 4410 on the front. So the total weight they are saying to
inflate for is 12,910 lbs. That's about right for the 1 ton chassis.

If you don't like what you get, go f.ck yourself.

One of the things I admire about this newsgroup is the restrained,
intelligent discussion that it seems to engender. A rare treat, indeed.

Interesting... Inflating tires to 55 psi somehow increases the maximum load
allowed on the rims? As I read the information provided, 2000 lbs per rim
times 4 rims yields 8000 lbs on my calculator. Such strident rants combined
with faulty logic and conclusions strongly supports Will's observations.
