moomoo - 02 Aug 2006 22:01 GMT this is what was emailed to me it would have the 12 foot box. It has the 3 way fridge, stove, sink, furnace, closet and one more cupboard that hangs from the ceiling (factory made)
It sleeps 8 - with the 2 end beds, table folds down plus a couch that can be pulled out as well.
with the couch in it, it makes it much more roomy. There is also an awning with the trailer and an add-a-room
Everything works, the canvas is in good shape, and we did not have any leaks with it either. I can send pictures if you like.
What do you think? they are asking 1200 for it do you think I should ask them to go down in price or what do you think it would be worth?Thank you.......................I seen pictures and it really looks clean........................
moomoo - 02 Aug 2006 22:05 GMT I am sorry I don't know what happened why it came through 3 times?? I don't know

If your horse is a pony, then your cart could end up being a wagon.
What is your planned tow vehicle?

What I'm concerned about is you asking total strangers for advice instead of taking a trusted friend or relative with you to LOOK at what you're considering. And I offer this advice: do NOT try to bargain on the price until you inspect the unit . . . at which time you can:
1) Realize the price asked is fair and just pay it; or
2) Decide it is nice but not worth the asking price to YOU... at which time don't ask the Dumb Question "Will you take less?" (usually asked with a whiny voice). Instead, just tell the seller what you ARE willing to pay. And mean it. Don't argue, pout, or start reciting all the things that are wrong - just stick with your story that you're willing to pay $$$$$. You may or may not get the deal. If not there will be another one.
3) Decide it is not what you want regardles of price, in which case you say it is not what you're looking for and get outa Dodge.
Bonus free advice: $1400 is a lot of $$ to pay for almost ANY rv old enough to vote.

moomoo - 02 Aug 2006 22:46 GMT I agree with you, but I don't have any family or friends out here as I just moved here........A new start for me, I just want to know if that is a fair price for me to pay they are asking 1200.00 for it, we are in canada...............I don't want to be taken for a ride, all I want to do is buy a camper so me and my daughter can get a bit of holidays in and forget about the ugly divorce I have just been through.

Please bottom post. 1200 loonies is about $1065 USD. A 1990 Bonaire, the furthermost back NADA goes, the biggest one they make is only worth $1100 US.
That's a 16 year old camper. You're looking at a 28 year old camper. At the very best, $5-600 USD cash is tops.
For $1200 CAD you get do a heck of a lot better. Go to the nadaguides.com site and see for yourself.

moomoo - 02 Aug 2006 23:17 GMT WOW, It seems to me that these people who are selling these campers are really asking alot when it is an older camper that I am after, too bad I can't find any deals like that for a 1990, when I ask if they will take $800.00 canadian they are really hesitant and never phone me back?? When would you say is the best time for me to purchase a used camper?

Around here, it seems that early spring is a great time to buy. I suspect that's because the used market gets a large supply from people buying up. I'd guess that mid to late winter would be good too, because the lack of demand.

What part of Canada are you in?
There are several regular posters here (and I suspect more semi-regular but frequent lurkers like me) who reside in various parts of this country who might be convinced to help out with an impartial opinion on the unit.
I live just outside Ottawa, my email address is good, if you are nearby I wouldn't mind helping.
Alternatively you might go to a nearby campground or RV park and ask around, most people I've met in like places are kind and generous and you might meet someone who wouldn't mind assisting, nothing ventured nothing gained.
My 2 cents worth.

moomoo - 02 Aug 2006 23:18 GMT Oh, that is really nice of you but I am from Saskatoon, Canada. I wish you could have been a phone call away. Too bad. Thanks for the kind gesture.:)

It appears that you are trying to go into this on the blind side. You can see what they are really like and then formulate what you like and really need. Also, folks generally get off on talking about their stuff if approached nicely and with a genuine interest.
Use a bit of patience and you can find better campers. Being prepared and knowing what you are looking at goes a long way.
With that not-a-Jeep little tow vehicle you have <grin>, only look at _small_ pop-ups, otherwise the trailer will drive you instead of you driving the trailer. Tomes (who pulls a mid-size popup with a Sienna and drives a Jeep TJ daily)

They want too much money for it. I can see you are all excited about getting a camper and going camping but don't just jump at the first thing you see. There are much newer/better campers out there for the same amount of money. You want something that you and your daughter came go for a weekend and have fun, not get there and have the camper fall apart.
