what is the biggest camper trailer a mitsubishy blade 5 speed jeep pull? What type of hitch will I need to pull it? The Jeep Wrangler TJ model (round headlights with the turn signals on the front fenders - not on the grill face) has a listed towing capacity of only 1000 pounds if you have a 4 cylinder engine and only 2000 pounds if you have the 6 cylinder engine. If you have the older YJ with the square headlights the towing capacity is only 1500 pounds. These are small capacities moomoo. Is what you have in the back a square hole made out of metal? Are there any wires or plugs back there or inside the cab near the taillights? If so we can continue the discussion from that question. Consider towing capacities of a given vehicle with a weight lifter. He can lift a great deal more than he can put back down at the same graceful speed. Tow ability has nothing to do with control or stopping ability. Get a Hitch Buddy and a 40' Teton and you'll be all set!
