I got a good rate from Farm and City. They are a broker and put us with
American Modern's Texas mutual. RVAA also uses American Modern, but
their rate was higher. Allstate couldn't come close.
We are part-timers in TX, too.

I live in the Dallas area and have Progressive. I get a pretty big discount
because of the other things I insure with them. Not sure how cheap it is if
it's the only thing your insuring.

I'd recommend GMAC insurance (Camping World). Cost seems comparable to
other insurance, maybe a bit more, but when the need to replace a
destroyed rv comes up they seem the best bet. We've got MetLife on
vehicles and home. Since we are contemplating leaving the trailer in
Florida next spring, I called MetLife to see if it would be covered in
storage and to see how the claim would be settled in the event of a
disaster. They said they'd use a comp price and said it wouldn't be
covered for mold damage if the roof was damaged by a wind storm.
Bottom line was their coverage was poor.
We'll go with GMAC this year, they will cover the trailer for full
original cost. It's replacement value up to 5 years and then reverts
to original cost. Hard to beat.

We have State Farm coverage on all of our rolling stock.
They may charge a bit more but they have the best Claims people we've ever
encountered.
They're a FAR cry from Kemper's and Allstate who "Low-Ball" everything and
then drop you like a Dixie Cup of molten lava.

We have Foremost and have had no problems with their service and no
complaints on claims. Had a new roof done last April due to tears in it
from tree limbs. No problems with $7800 in repairs. The price was
better than any other we could find when we started fulltiming. We have
a 38.5' 5er and a Med. duty truck.
