Hi All,
The previous thread (Help with black holding tank) got me thinking, and
looking:
I have a '96 Glendale Golden Falcon 29RG, rear kitchen.
On the roof is one vent, underneath I have two small (grey tank) drainage
valves and one large (black tank) one.
Inside under the kitchen counter I have an inside vent, the same under the
bathroom sink.
The problem is if I leave the most rearward drain valve closed, the kitchen
sinks, very soon after dumping, don't drain.
I open that valve and all is good.
I can hear the undersink vent make noise if I fill the sink and then let it
drain, the valve emits a 'burping' noise for quite a bit after the sink
itself is empty.
The manual that came with the trailer is quite generic and shows only one
grey tank/valve and so is useless to diagnose this, and when I emailed the
manufacturer for more detailed info they sent me a duplicate of said manual.
I don't have a problem per se, but am curious as to the design and the
function of the two grey drain valves; are there two grey tanks, and if so
is the kitchen one not draining when dumping?
As usual, speculation is expected, even welcomed, but even better would be
hard facts.

Any response will be speculation/assumption since no one can see what
you are dealing with.
So here goes: ANY tank that has a fluid running it to it must have a
vent(s) in order function properly. If you sink is draing slow, there's
a problem. More than likely there is a clog. The clog could be in the
drain itself (due to hair, grease and etc.) or it isn't being vented
properly.
When water is drained INTO a tank, air/gases has to get out to allow
room for the incoming fluid. This is why there is an OUTSIDE vent
(which may or may not be connected to the same vent as the black water
tank. If this vent is blocked, by who knows what, it will not allow the
liquid to enter the tank in a timely fashion.
Also, air has to be able to ENTER the drain line to allow the fluids to
FLOW by means of gravity. IF the inside vent isn't working properly
(opening), the flowing liquid MAY cause a vacuum behind it and
therefore causing slow drainage. IF the inside drain isn't closing,
odors and gases can escape within the MH.
Hope this helps. I am not a writer. I tried to be as concise as
possible.
Good Luck
Hank <~~~last post in regards to VENTS. :-)

Sounds like the gray tank venting to the roof is plugged.
I have a friend with an expensive 2005 diesel pusher, and there is only
one vent on his roof, suggesting that the gray and black venting systems
are combined somewhere in the coach. (His does have separate gray and
black water tanks.) Perhaps the same is the case with yours.

I think you have one grey tank with a drain valve and the kitchen
draining in to it with a shut off valve. Look for a garden hose
connection to the kitchen drain line with a cap on it. This would be
used for grey water drain where at one time it was allowed in some
places. The grey water tank drain might be valved to allow back flush of
the black water tank after it has been drained. This is accomplished by
closing the black water or main 3" valve after all the black water has
drained and opening the front grey water valve allowing the grey water
to enter the black water tank. You then reopen the main dump valve and
finish draining every thing. This is just a guess, it is the way mine is
plumed, except I have a grey tank for the galley.
I take it your 96 Glendale Golden Falcon 29RG is a fifth wheel.
