I have been active in other areas of Usenet for over 6 years, but this
is my first post here on alt.RV..  HEY, THERE!

We bought our 30' Rexhal Aires about 9 months ago because we have two
German Shepherds- one has epilepsy and needs meds 4 times a day and we
don't know anyone who can stay with the dogs here at our home. In
between a trip or two I have been redoing all the things others who
thought they knew what they were doing but didn't.

The most recent is roof repair. The Airex has a one-piece fiberglass
roof and at the edge of the roof is a screw-down metal cap strip. It
leaked for the previous owners so they took it to a shop (now out of
business) to have it sealed. They first used large amounts of butyl
caulking along the strip and then trowled/poured Plas-T-cote Fibered
Roof Coating on the strip- enough to cover it so it couldn't be seen!
I just finished removing the last of that stuff from the roof! It took
something in the area of about 20 hours (I didn't count). I figure
about another week's worth of work and it ill be done and hopefully
leak-free..

In other areas, I would like to share a product that I have found
indispensable. It is a two-part epoxy adhesive made specifically for
plastic. I have bought it with different names, but Devcon makes a
good one. Many of us think of plastic glue as junk, but this stuff
REALLY works!! I was able to repair some major damage to the chassis
heater blower box including four major cracks that went from the motor
to the firewall, and I was able to remount a vacuum motor on the box
that was torn free and barely hanging on at all. Other than
polypropylene and polyethylene this stuff works on most all plastics.
There is also plastic super glue, and while not as structural as the
epoxy, I use it to hold pieces together before trying to use the
epoxy.

If I worte of all the repairs I have personally done in the last 9
months it would take an entire website, and since I have already done
that with coffee, I  don't have the time to do it with the RV.  ;-)

Hi Randy

Hmm another person who bought a MH just to take his pets along.    We
had two Belgian Shepards and bought a Class C and when the lack of space
overwhelmed us we moved up to a Class A.  Never have regretted buying
into the MH as we were able to travel and take our pets with us.  You
will find a lot of other people here who have done the same thing.

Welcome to the group.  Have fun and enjoy your MH.

Did you own a Chien de Berger Belge? They look like a beautiful breed. I own
a Beauceron or Berger de Beauce...I enjoy having unusual pets.

We have a Tervuren, and she owns us, this is our second one!  We lost
our other one from a brain tumor about 2 years ago, sure is tough losing
them.  We were poodle owners for years, lap dogs if you will.  Teacup
size so as you can imagine this was one large transition for us.

Sorry the pictures are not clearer.  In the Class C it was crowded with
2 large dogs, glad we did it though as our dogs loved the traveling as
much as we do!

I checked yours out also on the net, nothing small about them either! (grin)
