I have already coughed-up the $$ for a gallon of Simple Green, so instead of
shelling-out even more bux for the expensive, "official" Level Gauge
Cleaner<tm>, would using Simple Green (sloshed-around by towing) be a good
cleaner for my gray tank?  I suspect it would.

You could always use the free gauge that never fails to tell you when your
grey water tank is full.  You know, when the shower doesn't drain. <g>

Those gauges are pure crap... I've never owned a RV where they worked
correctly, except for the fresh water one.  A guy that lives across the
street from me takes his back almost once a month to have the dealer fix
them.  Out of the 2 years he's owned the trailer, he's had it at home maybe
a month.

What an idiot.

Same here.......the gages only work for awhile after cleaning.  To clean
my tanks and gages about once or twice a year, I put a little dishwasher
detergent like Cascade or cheap Dollar store stuff in the tanks.  Then
fill near top with water, drive around the block a few times and park it
for a few days, then drive to dump site and drain.  Gets the "klingons"
out.

Don't know about Simple Green, but I had good luck with Calgon Water
Softener, a granulated product. I would dump a few tablespoons full down
the drain, and the gray water indicator would start working again .

For about two weeks.
