We are going to try to make it to Yellowstone again next June and July.
After searching the various Yellowstone sties I am unable to find out what
is the maximum length of time I can stay in park campgrounds during a 2
month period?
We traveled a long way from MS to Rocky Mt Nat Park to find that stays were
limited to 2 weeks total.
Since we both teach we like to travel a long distance and then really learn
about an area when we get there. We wouldn't stay in one campground (have
reservations for the first few days), but would move around since it's a
huge area. Does anyone know the permitted length of stay in the park for
one campground and the total allowed for more than one campground. We have
a small 5th wheel and are used to camping in National parks and national
forests with no hookups and prefer to stay inside parks rather than
commercial campgrounds.
As I said I haven't been able to find this info on the various Yellowstone
sites If someone knows or could point me to where the info is published I
would appreciate it.

"Camping is limited to 14 days between July 1 and Labor Day to 30 days
the rest of the year. There is no limit at Fishing Bridge RV Park."

If I remember correctly, there is only one campground in the park that has
hookups for RVs. I believe it is near Fishing Bridge, but I could be wrong.
That fact may influence your decision on how long you want to stay in
the park once you reach the limit on consecutive days. I suspect that
you may find no limit in some of the privately owned RV parks just outside
the west and north entrances.
I have no answer to your specific question, sorry, but I thought this information
might be useful.

What we found surprising was that the campground that we like in the
park (Mammoth Campground) doesn't have a dump station.

Camping Rules
Camping or overnight vehicle parking in pullouts, picnic areas, picnic
grounds, or any place other than a designated campground are not permitted
and there are no overflow camping facilities. However, camping is often
available in neighboring communities and forests outside the park.
Camping is limited to 14 days between July 1 and Labor Day to 30 days the
rest of the year. There is no limit at Fishing Bridge RV Park. Check-out
time for all campgrounds is 10:00 AM.

I think you will probably find the regulations -- length of stay,
reservation procedure etc, pretty standard among the NPS.

Well there are a couple of private camping sites that have no limit.

There is also a privately owned RV park in West Yellowstone that has a two
week limit unless they have changed their rules in the last few years.
