Has anyone tried to purchase an RV directly from the Winnebago
factory?  My guess is that they would have no interest in selling
dirrect to the customer because of contractual obligations.

No. . . And to prevent dealers closer to the factory from gaining a
price advantage over more distant dealers because of reduced shipping
costs, Winnebago charges the same flat-rate shipping fee for any
dealer within 2,000 miles of the factory.

If you are wanting to avoid miles on you rig before you get it then buy it from Lichtsinn Motors in
Forest City.  They are across town from the factory. <www.lichtsinn.com>

Hi,
You are right.  Though there is a dealer not very far away who will
sell you one.  Don't know how competitive they are price wise.
You can find them by going to the Winnebago site and looking for dealers
in Forest City Iowa.

Take care and Happy Campin...

Digger,
I don't know much about it, but my siste and bother-in-law just bought a
View and they picked it up at the plant and drove it home to California,
I have no idea what the rest of the arrangements were and my sister had
been taken ill since so I am not hot to ask just now.

we looked into doing that when we bought our '00 itasca suncruiser but
were told that while we could order from the factory we would have to
take delivery at a dealer.  after considering the process we decided
to order from a dealer.  for us that was a good move as the dealer has
been very good to us after the sale.
