Kind of curious I noticed this the other day.

I live in the texas area and found this website talking about RV
parks, anybody ever visited any of these or could suggest some good
parks or resorts out there for a vacation?

Just curious, but with all the nice state parks and COE parks
available in Texas, why would you even consider a commercial park.

I see where Joseph Myers <joemyers@news.teranews.com> contributed:

Dunno specifically about TX, but nationally one reason might be that
some "CEO" parks have been turned over to slovenly private managers
who have jacked up the rates, and let facilities slide.

The Caney Creek RV park shown on the map in usMap.shtml is about
35 miles west of downtown Knoxville, Tennessee.  I stopped in
there recently to take a look since I live nearby.  The park is
quite nice, right on the lake (Watt's Bar) with nice facilities.
It was early winter when I was there, so it was not full and
there were not a lot of people around, but many of the sites
were holding RVs.  Facilities were nice with a dock, rental
boats, children's play equipment, barbecue facilities as I
recall.  The place is new; maybe 2-3 years old.  There are few
as nice nearby.  It is located on Highway 70 that parallels I-40
just east of Rockwood and Harriman.  Exit I-40 at the new Lowes
store in Midway and go south to Hwy 70, then west for about 2 to
3  miles.  Watch for the sign on the left, it is not an eye catcher.

Other RV parks nearby are Eagles Nest and the Cross Eyed Cricket.

The Cross-Eyed Cricket has a great, rustic-style (but very nice)
restaurant which specializes in fish (trout?) caught in their own pond.
Absolutely delicious and not expensive at all.

Open to campers and "outside visitors" as well.

Sorry to inform you that the restaurant is now closed.  We would
go there every year and fish for trout and catfish, then eat our
catch and have ice cream and apple pie for desert.  I suppose
the ponds are still there and may still be stocked with trout
and catfish.  But, the restaurant is closed.  Nice place...

Well, heck. Too bad.
