My husband is looking at a 6500 Wildfire Generator. What he likes (beside
the price) is how quiet it is. Does anyone have any experience with this
generator? How are they? Are they reliable? Are they easy to start? (I may
have to start it one day) Any comments most welcome.

Who makes the motor?
Brigs and Stratton, better have ear plugs.
Honda's are the quietest motors.
Guess it depends on where and how you intend on using it.

Based on info from > http://www.mybigtoystore.net/mall/Elim6600SS%20Page.asp
these appear to be the typ contractor style genset. The smaller ones
appear to have Honda clone engines, suspect these are also larger Honda
knockoffs. Reportedly the SPL is 65 db @ 23 ft. Spec sound like not
too noisy but I would question the number due to the open design of the
packaging and not being an inverter type generator, it's going to run
full speed all the time. At 180#, it's not very portable. Would also
bet this product is made in China. What is the likelihood of finding a
repair place anywhere close.
You'll not make any friends in a campground if there are others close by.
