Dunno what your level of RV experience is, or Anything about that
specific brand...
First, these things normally take almost forever to cool down... much
less heat removal capacity then a home unit. If you're opening the door
to check on it, that 'pumps' hot air in, replacing part of what's been
cooled.
If it's like my Dometics have been, there's a finned heat exchanger at
the back of the top shelf. It should feel cool / cold after a few
hours.
Obvious things to check are propane supply and valves being open; fuses
and breakers (some reefers need 12V for control functions); and 110
supply. It may be on a GFI circuit.
Also, check the upper vent on the outside of the RV. You should be able
to feel considerable heat rising from the outer heat exchanger and the
burner / heating element below. If not, it's likely a burner / LP
supply / heating element / power supply problem.
It may have been run off-level. Older units are very sensitive to this.
I've heard that vigorous hammer tapping on a 2x4 held against the
outside cooling coils can help this; also that sometime turning the
whole unit over and letting it sit for several days may cure it....
can't vouch for either.
It may have suffered an ammonia leak. The only cure I know of is either
replacing the cooling unit or the whole thing.
G'luck.

One thing you can try... Old trick that sometimes works depending upon the
problem. Take the fridge out of your rig and stand it upside-down overnight
(18=24 hour) then reinstall and see if it works....Just a thought.

I got rid of my Dometic unpredictable Fridge and put in a 4.3 cu.ft.
Haier Brand conventional 110 v. Fridge with Inverter ; best decision i
ever made. No more spoiled food or frustration. It stands up to the
road just fine , works when not level, and cools down incredibly fast :
From 73 f. to 38 f. in 2 hours .

There is a rumor/legend/whatever that, if you INVERT the entire assembly for a
while, it *MAY* resume service. You can only imagine the WORK that would
require, and on an old refrigerator, no less.
If you can afford the high price, a NEW replacement (with a warranty) would be
a good way to go.
When the (bought-new) 8-9-year-old, miniscule 3-way fridge on our popup died,
I had it torn out and throughly enjoyed the added, spacious cupboard. We
never missed crawling around on the floor for our cold food again. Since we
always brought an ice chest anyway, we simply used a bigger one for the next,
few years. It was quite handy, with the kids gone, perched on a bunk end
behind the curtains.
Now, many years later, having enjoyed a nice stand-up-height LP/electric
refrigerator in our travel trailer, when this one dies, there will be no going
WITHOUT one as before.
Also, since I enjoy "boondocking", it will have to be an "official" RV
refrigerator that runs gas. No cheaping-out with a <sigh> DORM fridge for
this camper.
But <sob> they want so darn much CA$H for a nice one!! ARGH!!
In a mid-to-large metropolitan city/area, one could probably find a USED
refrigerator for less than new. Wrecked, newer RVs are "out there" somewhere.
However, just like with anything second-hand, one can only IMAGINE what
(mis)treatment it may have had.
I will get a NEW one with a warranty - and probably even pay for a year or two
of extended warranty for a good "shakedown" for the machine.

Do they last that long? (A serious ?, anyone?)

You don't HAVE to put "a hundred-dollar saddle on a ten-dollar horse."
(Trans: In a 30-year-old rig, no one would be surprised to see a pantry of
canned goods inside the dead fridge - and a cooler outside in the shade.)
It isn't cheap keeping an RV going. It's the PRICE of our fun, though <sigh>
We could be doing a race car, motorcycle or some other equally expensive money
pit on wheels, so I guess it's not so bad.
Thank God for my travel trailer. If nothing else, it's SAFER than many
recreational alternatives. (I didn't say "cheaper".)

I think you might be pleasantly surprised at how well a dorm fridge
(120vac) works off your battery pack & inverter. At 10% of the cost
of an equivalent propane unit, it cools faster and has the added
advantage of being impervious to off-level conditions.
BTDT - our last 8 yrs of rv travel proved it a good plan. Obviously
if you boondock for a week at a time you'll need a way to replenish
batteries, but the fridge is a small load compared to furnace, m/w,
etc.

You have provided
1. You have provided SO little info;
2. Your diagnostic tests = 0;
Best guess: You don't yet even know the questions; a scenario that
tends to defy answers.
