Hi, another question, different than about the white hose.
This one's about screwing mounting screws into the wall of a travel trailer.
We have a 25' travel trailer that's about seven years old, and we're
thinking we may be staying in it for a bit of time. Wife's thinking of
mounting stuff to the wall kinda like what we do at home.
What really worries me is that due to space considerations, she's lookin
to get a flatscreen LCD TV and mounting that to the wall. The units
I've seen are about 20 lbs.
Now in the house, it's pretty straightforward. Find a stud and affix
the mount to the stud rather than the sheetrock. But in a trailer, I'm
not exactly sure what's in those walls, whether there are anything like
studs behind the wall.
In our rig, there is a mirror that folds out/down and becomes a platform
for a small TV, so I imagine was intended to take *some* weight. But I
should also mention that the screws holding it to the wall are pulling
out a bit (!).
Can anyone describe what's in them walls, and if mounting anything
heavier than a towel bar is reasonable?
Thanks,
-Rob

Depends on the model and the brand. It could just be a sandwitch wall
with no studding or a wall with some type of stud, but not like in a
house. I'd see if the panel where she wants to mount the screen is
removable so you can see what's there and re-enforce it if needed.
