Roadside Assistance

I have a new 5th wheel owned by me personally and an F350 owned by my
corporation. I cannot get traditional Good Sam type roadside
assistance programs because my truck is owned by my corporation. I
would have to buy a policy for each.

Last summer, I got stuck on I-95 with a trailer blowout and no tire
tool (yes, that was stupid).

I called SC Highway patrol and they couldn't help. I called several
auto/truck tire stores and they said it was too dangerous to come out
on I-95. (No sh.t)

Is there a state by state resource that lists roadside repair
companies....the same ones that AAA and good Sam send?

After 4 hours I finally got someone with a tire tool to help me.

Why wouldn't the SCHP help?  That's their job.  I have had friends in
similar situations as yours in Calif and Wash, and the CHP and WSP were very
helpful.

Here's a suggestion:

Coach Net insures all of those FMCA types with the big Diesel Pushers
that were purchased under Montana corporations to cheat the owners'
domiciles out of sales taxes. Why not go with Coach Net?

Coach Net requires you have a membership in one of their affiliated
organizations. I know FMCA wouldn't have you with a truck and trailer,
but Escapees most certainly will and that membership will permit you to
get Coach Net's road service, which, IMHO, is the "Cadillac" of road
service programs. You will enjoy the Escapees membership, too. Their
magazine is great and there are lots of perks, like discounted RV parks,
insurance, etc. besides.

You can get Coach Net "bare" if you pursue it with the contact person.
Costs more than an affiliated membership of course but if one wants the
very best road care it's worth it.

I believe his issue was that the 5th wheel has one owner (him) and the tow
vehicle has another owner (his corporation) and that one policy won't cover
vehicles with diferent owners.

Coach Net will cover a motorhome owned by an Montana corporation and a
toad owned by an individual person who is the principle of the
corporation. That's why I suggested them.

I found that out when we had the first HR trailer. Since we had to be
members of the HR Owners Club to get the road coverage, I asked if we
could get coverage if we had S.O.B. and they said yes. IIRC the charge
was quite a bit higher. Seems it was something like, with HR club $89,
without HR club $109. We opted for the old RRR coverage since taken over
and obliterated by Affinity.

RRR was wonderful. Affinity killed it and gave us Camping World's
President Club instead. We were so happy to get over to Coach Net. What
a difference!

The Escapee affiliation with Coach Net makes it available to so many
more RVers who have towables.
