Took the Gen. in for diagnosis at Cummins/Onan Repair Facility this
morning. The crankshaft had broken in two they said. (no wonder it
wouldnt crank !) . They will check with Onan to see if they want them
to rebuild it or just put in a new motor section of the Generator.

If the unit has only two hours on it, I'd lobby hard for a NEW unit. Onan can
fix the "old" one and sell it as refurbished.

REPLY: Its not up to me or the Repair Facility ; that would be up to
Onan Factory . Either way, im ok with it. I am going to take out an
extended warranty on it , thus giving me almost 5 years of parts and
labor protection for $325. I think thats worth it considering how much
im going to use the Generator , and, taking into account this 'anomoly'
.

The latest is : Onan is going to give me a brand new complete
Generator instead of the just a replacement motor section as they had
problems with the casting on some. Thats alright by me !! Ya hooo !
