"The legislation would end a tax break for buying large SUVs, known as
the "Hummer tax loophole" because it allows people who buy some of the
most expensive SUVs to write off much of the cost."
I got this from: http://apnews.myway.com/article/20070805/D8QQNQM00.html
That's what you get when you elect Democrats. When are you ever going to
learn. Elect Democrats and get tax and spend policies that ruin the
economy. I remember when the Dems decided to put a "luxury" tax on
yachts. It just about killed the yacht industry. Put many union workers
out of a job and increased the purchases of yachts overseas.
But, actually this news makes me happy because it's the larger RVers who
seem to delight in bullying and threatening bicyclists. Now, there will
be fewer of them on the road because fewer people will be able to afford
them.

I am an RV'ing cyclist. This must really screw you up, huh?
The reason I unsubscribed from rec.bicycles.misc and
rec.bicycles.off-road is because I could not stand all the political
sh.t that implied anyone who pedalled also had to be some kind of
shrieking political junkie.
OK, let's get it over with:

Sorry, you are confused and will not be happy. The "loophole" involves
purely business writeoffs, which are extremely uncommon for RVs. RVers
commonly writeoff only interest under the home or second home
deduction rules, not affected whether the legislation mentioned
passes, or not.

That write off was meant for working man's trucks but the yuppie scum used
it on their 6500+lb SUVs. They should get their heads sucked under a RV!

6500 lb? My Dualie weighs over 8000. It gets about 20 mpg empty or full
and11 to 14 towing. It's a nasty old diesel of course. So bite me.
