Finally, sold the house, going into our new 5th wheel full-time this
Thursday. We got it prepped for the washer dryer which will go in the
bedroom closet in the front cap.  We took the advice of the salesman to buy
a better one from elsewhere.  Looked online at Lowe's and Sears and they had
one-piece stackable's but not separate washer/dryer.  Any recommendations
where to buy will be helpful. Happy Campers, Kay & Erv

You did not say what size you need.  Most (Many) are set up for 24 inch
wide units since for most RV's that is the door width.  The second
question is are you wired for 240VAC at the dryer location or 120V.  If
the answer is 24 inch and 120V dryer then you will probably have to
special order them.  Whirlpool has a 24 inch 120V dryer and washer (I
believe that all washers are 120V) which is what I would recommend.  Any
dealer that carries Whirlpool brand can order them for you.

A second option is the Splendide stackable units.  They are available
from $CW.

A third option (One that I would avoid) is Majestic.

If you are looking for a combo washer / dryer (single unit does one
thing at a time) then I think that Splendide's vented unit is probably
your best option.

For a one-piece unit, check Camping World and other RV supply houses.
Google RV supplies. If the factory has not vented the closet, the
non-vented one-piece units take forever to dry.

I am very puzzled about the washer dryer going in the bedroom closet
in the front cap. Do you mean all the way to the fore of the unit? If
so, are you not a little concerned about extra hitch weight? Will it be
in the center of the closet to keep the weight balanced?

I do hope you  have considered an air hitch and that the factory has
reinforced the closet for the weight of the washer dryer.

Knowing what I do about these little one-piece washer/dryer combos, they
take such a long time to complete a load that most people put the wash
in at night and just let it run. If the unit is in your closet, that's
1) going to make a lot of noise and, 2) cause an awful lot of vibration
when it spins as the closet in for fore of the fifth wheel has the least
stability of any part of the unit. You most definitely will need a good
kingpin stabilizing system!

We fulltimed for 9 years in fifth wheels. I never found a need to have a
washer/dryer on board. I wanted all of my space for my stuff and I
wanted to keep the weight of the unit under the CGVWR as much as I
possibly could.

We never had a single item of clothing ruined or caught a disease from
using coin-op laundries. I used the time as "away time" from my spouse.
Much as we love each other 24/7 togetherness is a lot to ask of any
relationship. I would bring a book or a craft to the CG laundry but
usually I would meet someone and we'd share travel stories, RVing tips,
recipes,etc.

The coin-ops in the towns were wonderful places to learn of local fairs
and festivals. Almost all of them sport posters for local happenings.

I can see you are excited about your great adventure, but before you buy
that washer/dryer, take a little while to consider what I've posted and
do some research on what I've written.

Good luck and safe and happy travels.

We have a Kenmore stacked unit in a closet in bathroom area and my
wife wouldn't be without it. Kenmore is from Sears so parts are
available almost anywhere. It is a 120v unit so the drying is slow but
since we are in drier climates, we put heavier items like jeans and
towels outside to mostly dry and then put them in the dryer to "Fluff"
them. She will usually do 3-4 loads in a day.
