Until readig this tip, I assumed that the best way to clean and
preserve the exterior fibreglass was a bucket of mild soapy water and
a sponge -- same as for cars, except without the polish.  My new
Winnebago MH has the standard gel coat finish and I certainly would
like to preserve the gloss.  Looking for the voice of
experience ....   Wax or no wax, that is the question?

This was my source:

EXTERIOR FIBREGLASS / GEL COAT FINISH:
Care of the fibreglass finish is similar to caring for a new car or
boat. Any finish will deteriorate over time and exposure to extreme
sunlight, pollutants, and excessive moisture can cause dulling, fading
and yellowing. Regular washing and periodic waxing will help maintain
the glossy new look. When washing use a mild automotive wash solution,
being sure to rinse off any loose debris first. Avoid spraying water
directly into the Truma vents. Waxing twice a year is recommended with
an automotive wax or polish developed for boats. Follow all directions
by the wax manufacturer carefully and remember to wash and wax out of
direct sunlight and when surfaces are cool.

Digger,

I am purchasing the PoliPrep and PoliGlow system in an effort to save my
vinyl decals. They claim to save and restore shine to gelcoats, paint,
vinyl, etc.

It's a tad pricey ($60), but they offer a 100% money-back gurantee. Another
guy in a yahoo group recommended it.  I'll let you know how it works...

Steve, Id be interested in hearing if anyone has tried this too.  Have

Steve, thanks for the posting!  Will look forward to a follow-up
