I am looking at a one owner, 24', Chevy 454 powered, 1998 Trek, with 65,000
miles.  Well maintained with all records.

Is there any history or problem that I should specifically be looking out
for in this model coach or engine?

Thank you for any information or help that you can give me.

If it has the overhead (raise/lower) bed, find out if it's one of the
models that caused problems. The bed mechanism would get stuck halfway
down or jump the "tracks" while being moved up or down. If so, make sure
it's been fixed so that won't happen.

I think it was around '98 when they were having that problem. It was
fairly serious, since if it got stuck in the down position -- or close
to down -- it got in the way of the driver's seat and the vehicle
couldn't be moved until it was repaired.

We know of 3 owners who have had significant electrical problems with
models of that vintage. Also, the magic bed has been known to fail with
people in it.

I am not a fan of Safari, especially in the late 90's when the company
was being passed around to different owners and floundering financially.

There might not be any problem with the one you are looking at, but you
asked, so I responded.

I'd take it to a good mechanic and make sure everything is working well.
I'd also check the tires. If they are original, they will need replacing.
