I am moving to Texas this winter and need to get five cats and one
parrot from Rhode Island to Texas.  The only way I can think of is to
use an RV of some sort.  I also need to bring a car.  The car will stay
in Texas - but the RV will either be driven back to RI or left in
Texas.  I have absolutely no experience with RV's and am looking for
advice on how to accomplish getting my pets to Texas.  Is an RV the
way?  Thanks.........

I think an RV makes sense since you will need it heated ,  you wont have
to leave your pets by themselves,  you have built in sleeping
accomodations  and can simply dispose of their feces down the RV toilet
I dont think youd need a big RV...maybe even a class B. Camper/Van
would suffice  although it may be a bit cramped if theres going to be 2
adults with a bunch of pets.

If you dont want to drive , maybe there is a way to fly you and your
pets . If you drive, i hope your cats and parrot like travelling
otherwise it could be THE trip from Hell.

By the time you buy a MH, buy a car and get it ready to be towable, you will
have thousands invested.
Then when you go to sell, you will probably take a huge loss.
The airlines will fly animals, won't they ?
That's your best bet.
Get to TX any way that's best for you and then have someone send the pets
when you get there.

I know *some* pets do, but do you have a citation for "hundreds of"?

Hundreds of people die inside airliners every year.  It is just a matter of
people - hours and life expectancy.

It doesn't seem ike petmovers would stay in business for very long if
"hundreds" of pets died every year.
