I am considering getting this book for a friend who is thinking of getting
into the RV scene. He's been on a few trips with me in my class B so he is
not completely green.

Here's the book:

He's also not an idiot either, so no snarky remarks from the peanut gallery.
Any other recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks everyone, hope you had a wonderful Holiday!

Special hugs to Janet! Such a lovely lady!!

Thanks, Bob.

My favorite RV book is Bob Livingston's RV repair manual. It would be a
great complimentary volume to the above.  http://tinyurl.com/29v7pr

A few other books that are immensely helpful are:

Rand McNally Motor Carrier's Atlas - This book lists low clearances and
shows which roads are appropriate for motor carriers (big trucks). If
they can use the road, an RV shouldn't have a problem.

The Mountain Directory - There is an East and  a West version. I
recommend this book for anyone who plans to do any driving over
mountains. Sometimes the roads can't be avoided, but it helps to have a
grade by grade knowledge of what to expect.

A comprehensive campground directory like the Trailer Life Directory or
Woodalls is also a big help.

I second Janet's recommendation of Bob Livingston's RV repair manual.  I
have it, and have referred to it often.
