Besides agreeing with the BS comment, this post validates my post in
another thread about recommending that dishes be mounted high as a
Public Relations thing. There is very little chance that reasoned
arguments will convince a poster like this of the errors in their
thinking, and so they will rant and rave about low dishes forever. Get
enough of those, and RV parks will start banning satellite internet
dishes.
For the rest of you who may care about what actually happens, the
emission levels in the directional beam from a consumer satellite dish
is very small, less than 5% of the amount that starts to cause the FCC
to have exposure concerns.
Dangerous emissions DO occur within the first foot or so in front of
the feedhorn (towards the dish), but those emissions stop instantly
when anything is placed in that area - transmit is only allowed when
receive is available, which it is not if there is anything blocking
the horn.
So, again, the recommendation for mounting a dish high is not a legal
one, nor is it a technical safety one, it is a PR one.

Don,
What's the probability that both threads were actually started by the same
Idiot-with-a-grudge?
Personally, I'd guess about 99.999999999% unless there's a group of
Luddites that are trying desperately to stifle progress. <G>
While there may be some who *honestly* believe such nonsense as the OP
spouts, I'd put him in the same category as the Land Locked Lemmings who
troll here and on RORT and treat him the same way. <G>

According to numerous studies, including an informal one performed as a
result of your post, _you_ are more of a hazard than the subject of your
ire: Given that an inordinate rise in Blood Pressure due to such idiotic
inanities can cause Cardio-Vascular Accidents [CVAs aka 'Strokes'], you
have just demonstrated that, by posting such mindless babble as this, you
wish to cause irreparable physical harm to those who take part in this News
Group.
As a result, don't be too surprised if/when you are arrested on a charge of
Attempted Murder. <EG>
