We are having our 5th wheel (Terry, 27ft.) re-carpeted.  I agreed that
removing the sofa-bed would be my job.  The sofa is on the slideout.  Any
advice?  Anybody done it before?  Do I just open it up and the method of
attachment will be obvious?

Thanks,

Ivan Vegvary

I doubt that it is fastened down.  We have had two 5th wheels with
hide-a-bed sofas and they were not fastened down.

You may have problem getting it out of your 5er as it may have been put in
the trailer before the slide out or before a large window was put in.  If
you can get it through the entry door you will be lucky!

That's probably your best bet.

The jackknife sofa in my Montana is bolted down and serves as the "cover"
for the LR slide mechanism in addition to providing seating.
