The RV market has dried up. Winnebago is down 70%:

http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/business/20080721-0802-winnebago-ceo.html

The price of gas is still less than it was in 1979 adjusted for
inflation.

This says people who buy RV have their eyes bigger than their wallets.
In other words they are financially wreckless. What is the nature of
people who are wreckless?

Think of how they drive.

Think of them saddling the next generation with the costs of their
largess.

They are pigs!

Bike sales are up by 40%. There are a lot more bikes on the roads and
many, many less RVs. The air is cleaner, places less crowded and
people are regaining their health.

RVers were always what was wrong with Amerika.

They are pigs!

It's only Shad under a different name at the same ISP address. He probably
mis-spelled the name "Nomen" because he loves men with shaved bodies in
spandex!  ":o)

Zt doesn't matter how fuel is related to the price of 1979. What matters
is the reality of now. The price is  crippling budgets of most folks.
They may not be starving but their American Dream is not what it was.
RVers are not the proble of America. RVers are Americans. It is no sin
to want to get enjoyment out of life. It is sick to say we are less than
rigeous if we don't suffer daily.
That;s the one theme that comes through with what is typically regarded
as the Liberal crowd. They believe that American don't suffer enough or
sacrafice enough.
I still remember Jommy Carter saying that Americans have had it too easy
too long. Americans are going to have to pay a lot more for a lot less.
That's socialist and sick. The Globalist Big Business have their own
brand of socialism and are making it a reality though. In their quest
for ultimate wealth they are bringing economic and spiritual gloom to
America. They took our wealth and spread it about preaching betterment
of the world population. All they have accomplished is bringing gloom to
America while they have taken more/ most of our wealth. In order to have
great wealth you have to have poverty. It is really that simple.
The 6000 or soaccording to someone's estimate of the Global Economic
Ruling Aristocracy have seen their wealth greatly multiply. Where did it
come from. Us!
Think that million dollars, in your retirement is a lot? It wuld have
been in 1950, or even 1970. or even 1980.

Ah, yes!  After crawling my way through the misspellings and grammatical
errors, I see the problem: No matter what the situation, it has been
caused by "liberals" or by corporations (generally run by
"conservatives") that have taken over for the Socialists.  And if you
are going to impugn Jimmy (I spelled that correctly) Carter, how about a
good word for (thankfully former) Senator Phil Gramm, who recently said
about the same thing?

Damned conspirators!  Under almost every rug!

Shad, is it true that after a bicycle trek, you guys all go into a
shower room and smell each other's Spandex? Rumors abound.

The time to buy an RV is when no one else wants one.  At least,
that is when the price gets right.  Sounds like the time is near.

oink.

Some are at or near the bottom figure on the NADA website the past
couple of days.  I didn't think I ever wanted to own a motorhome, but
it's getting more enticing!! I just saw a motorhome that has been
garaged all it's life that only has only 14,000 miles. The owner just
installed a new set of tires, including the spare. It's a 29 footer -
just our size, and looks like new inside and out. The asking price -
$12,500. NADA - $19,500. So, what if it's 12 years old?
