Hello everyone,
I am new to RVing and am looking into purchasing a smaller <20' RV for
fishing/hunting that will fit in a standard garage. A local seller has an
Odyssey/Toyota for sale at a reasonable price (I think). I am concerned
about the smaller engine in this unit. I beleive the chassis is a one ton,
but the engine is the 3.0L 6cyl available in the little toyota trucks. I'm
not certain if the engine is modified. If there is anyone out there who has
experience in one of these smaller Odyssey RVs, please let me know the pros
and cons. Do i have options for beefing up the engine? I won't be towing a
boat or overloading the RV with equipment but the power is still a concern
for me. Any advice or other recommendations are appreciated. (I'm also
looking at conversion vans)
Thank you in advance.

The engine is hardly a concern. Most RVs built on Toyota chassis are
notorious for stuff like bent axles, 'cause the Toytota chassis is just
not up to the job.
Winnebago briefly used the Toyota chassis back in 1992 - 1994 for their
Warrior and Spirit Class C rigs. While any other Winnie can be imported
into Canada, import of anything on a Toyota chassis is prohibited. They
aren't safe.
