I have a 96 chevy cavalair convertable I want to tow .
What is the best base plate to get for it?
Many sites list the convertable as not able to tow??
But i have seen them how do they do it?
Any help?

Not sure about all the issues with your specific model but in general
Cavaliers are towable (4-down w/o drivetrain modification) when equipped
with one model AT (manual trans cars may be as well). Sometimes it's a
matter of the trim and details of a particular model. The 90's Ford Escorts
were towable (manual or AT with lube pump) except the GT model due to front
air dam and "driving" lights. The owner's manual should give the details if
it's towable and how to do it. Another good source is
http://www.remcotowing.com/. As far as which tow bar, that's primarily
decided by what's available in your area and personal preference on the
design. I have the Blue Ox Aventa II because I like the covered telescoping
arms and the locking lever vs the locking pin design of the Roadmaster.
