Classic 900 T16 "cam cover bush"?

I'm currently looking for a good classic 900 T16 in the UK and have
come across an Aero which would fit the bill - mileage is still within
reason and it seems to have been looked after as well. So far, so
good.

However the current owner mentioned that during the last service, he
was advised that both the front rollbar bushes (OK, I know what they
are, and they aren't that hard to change) and the front 'cam cover
bush' are worn but don't need immediate replacement. Can someone
please shed a light onto what a 'cam cover bush' is - so far I've only
had 8V Turbos and I haven't come across one of those...

TIA,

T.

It's a small rubber grommet on the cam cover, your 8v has one too. They
cost 30p and take 7 seconds to change.

Where d'ja gett'em for 30p? I had to pay 2.88 UKP at SAAB for my last one :(
I was able to fit mine in about 5 seconds, but I'm sure the extra time it
takes to fit the cheap ones wouldn't be a bit problem :)

That's horrible! My local Saab indy place sells them for around 30p. I
paid £2 for a whole bag of them.

I'll have words! I thought it might be one of your economies of scale with a
bag of 1000, like the sump washers :)

Mine has the consistencey of soft toffee when the engine is hot, but it
means that the valve is well and truly glued in there. Ain't coming out
in a hurry, just the small pipe blows off instead. You can pull it out,
but it is a very squidgy fit putting it back in. It was the smaller hose
on that connector that blew off today.

Ah, wholesale grommets.  The economies of quantity...  ;-)

Thanks. I think I should just about be able to handle that...
