Do I have a clutch cable?

I've got a 1998 SAAB 900S... I read somewhere that this year they
switched over. I know the 1999 9-3 went back hydraulic. How do you tell?

Look on top of the gearbox - If you see an arm actuated lever it's a cable -
If there is a
hydraulic pipe entering the gearbox its hydraulic

You are correct.  For Model Year 1998 the NG900s switched from cables to
hydraulic.
Got one in the driveway!  Cansider yourself lucky.  The cables tended to be
a trouble spot on those that has them...
