how do you replace bulb in a switch ?

Is it possible to replace the bulb in the big squarish switches ? If

Just remove the switch, and you can screw the bulb of from the side...it
work atleast on some of them.

In what car? I did this on a '87 900, it obviously wasn't designed to be
replaceable but it is possible with some patience.
