9000 side mirror stopped working

Due to an over zealous parts man who tried to prise the mirror glass
from the cowling with screw drivers. The left/right function no longer
works the up/down is ok.
Is the mirror unit kaput or is there a simple fix for the problem ?

Hopefully. If you look down the side of the glass (try left, from memory)
you will see some plastic teeth. Insert a screwdriver, and slide them. Up,
down, cannae remember, but one way will release the glass. It is a ring that
rotates to lock and unlock.

The glass will be held with 2 wires & connectors (for the heating element).
Disconnect them, and remove the glass.

Now figure the damage your tame gorilla has caused!
