9000 Turbo Hooter Hose Goes Where?

It first came loose (hose needed replacement); it goes to a splitter leading
back through the firewall. Also connected at the splitter is a hose from
the--what?--the fuel injection system?

What do these do, together? What kind of hose do I get to replace them,
too...

There seems to be many problems with your 9k.  Did you get it only
recently and is trying to address the previous owner's neglect?  Check
this out.

Yes, that's right. Only in this case, it's decayed rubber hose. I took a
chance and reconnected it, so now the dash turbo dial is apparently working.

I'd replace the vacuum hose soon with a new one.
