This almost seems too trivial a question to pose to this group, but I
have a 2001 9-3 (base model) with only four speakers. I've not cracked
open the doors to check - does anyone know if there is additional work
to be done to add door speakers beyond just plugging them in?

I would like to know too. I have an '02 and was thinking of upgrading my
stereo. I would think dropping in some door speakers would be the
easiest way to go.
