Lately my car has been leaving oil stains all over the place, and they have been growing bigger. I had a friend check it over, and tell me that, it's probably leaking from the head gasket. Has anyone had any problems with this? Is it expensive to fix? It is much more likely the valve cover gasket than the head gasket. If it were the head gasket you would have worse problems than a little oil leakage. Valve cover gaskets are inexpensive and it is a fairly non-invasive job so it should not take more than 1 hour total labor. Head gaskets don't usually fail in a "drip oil on the driveway" mode, they fail with running and/or unusual exhaust smoke color symptoms. > Has anyone had any problems with this?
