Hello ...
I have a 1996 saab 9000
yesterday after indicating to pull into the side of the road, I also
switched on the hazard lights...
result ... both the direction indicator lights and the hazard lights
stopped working and now refuse to work!

I have visually checked the fuses for the direction indicator & hazard
light (separate fuses) ... but both seem ok ...

Also the indicator lights still flash when I use the remote fob on the
cetral locking / alarm...

Is this likely to be a relay (do they share the same one)?  Would the
lights still flask with the alarm arming if it was a relay?

Can anyone suggest an appropriate test to proceed?
Having not tackled them before ... is it a difficult and / or expensive
diy job?

thanks
AJ

Just for the record ... now fixed this ...
it was a dry solder joint on one of the connectors on the relay...
thankfully fairly small job with the soldering iron ...
Gaining access to the relay was the hardest job...
and had to do it twice as the flasher relay is at the back and easily
unseated as you push the
fuse tray back in ...
broke a couple of the lack plastic rivets...  but seems to be hanging
on ok by the remaing
one and a bit)..
took about an hour altogether...
and all's well so far
AJ
