Hey all,
I am creating a Saab paint guide, and I have most of the Saab color code,
paint chips and names for the last 15 or so years. I need some information
that maybe someone out there can help me with.
I need the color chips for the following colors:
204 Edwardian Grey
216 Beryl Green
219 Talladega Red
I need the paint codes and color chips for the following colors:
Colorado Red
Malachite green
If any one has the original sales brochures with the color charts in them,
could they scan and e-mail them to me? Or if you have the RGB hex code that
will display the colors, that woul be even better.
Thanks,
Jeremy

The site I use when I want to refer to colour codes, etc. is
"http://www.paintscratch.com". If you are very lucky you can find paint
manufacturer colour chip charts specifically for Saab's. I've got a few
Dulux ones for classic 900's dating from about 1981 to 1986 but some of them
don't include all the colour options for the particular build year. Not
quite sure why, but they make a good reference for me to use when I get
asked to see if a colour is original or not.
Regards,
Craig.

Craig,
Perhaps Steven in New Zealand could give us some publicity on trollhattensaab.net for others to help with this Saab paint guide online. Any idea of a domain address? www.saabpaint.com? or something???
I think it is soo cool that Craig is a big Saab Enthusiast in Australia and Steven is as well in New Zealand and both have great Saab sites on the internet!

I also found a site that produces touch up paint for cars. You input the
make and year and it will list the colors used in that model year. They also
provide the codes, however they start at 1994. Some colors for the C900,
such as Edwardian Gray and Slate Blue, have been retired. Saab also
apparently retired several classic colors between '94 to '05 while
introducing new ones. For example, Saab has several shades of red in four
different paint types, and it is the same for about every color except black
(color code #170 by the way). They even have two different shades of white.

Well that's up to Steve to decide on - I'm sure if he's approached with a
reasonable idea he'll consider it.
If there was a definite need to have a Saab-specific paint website then a
special domain would be a good idea, but I don't really see the need for a
site just doing paint codes, etc. for Saab's as places like paintscratch.com
and others already handle all the paint codes used by Saab's and many other
makes of European car.
A simple guide page though would be good. Maybe even something like a
spreadsheet-type table layout with one page for each Saab car group.

Thanks for the compliment. Just trying to help out where I can and offer a
perspective that's Australian-focused which anyone else is more than welcome
to contribute to. No commercial aspirations whatsoever in my Saab websites.
Craig.

Cool, thanks Paul,
I actually hit another site with basically much of the same info. This
will hep me complete the numbering. Here is what I was able to put together:
http://jerem43.home.att.net/pages/paints.pdf
It is best viewed on a better quality tube monitor, and printed on a
quality color laser printer that can do Pantone rated color reproduction.
