Mileage dropping on 9-5 Aero

When I first got my '02 9-5 Aero, I tromped on the gas constantly. I got
about 23 mpg in-town, and 28-32 on road trips.

Almost 4 years later I've got 65k miles on the car. I decided I need to
drive a bit less aggressively so as to reduce my gas consumption. So now,
with much calmer driving, I seem to be getting 20-21 mpg in town. I
haven't done a long roadtrip recently but I suspect it's down too.

I've got a new set of spark plugs but other than that I haven't had the
full 60k service yet.

So: is this 10-15% drop in mileage to be expected, or is something wrong?
Will I see the mileage go back up when I complete the 60k service?

Or should I go back to mashing the gas to improve my mileage?? :-)

Do you still use the same type of tire and keep it at the same pressure?
Been using Premium gas all along?

I've been noticing a drop in my mileage on my 2001-9-5 Aero as well.
I've got 56-k on it, and recently had to have the plugs replaced
because they were "fuel fouled" or so the dealer told me. Except for
occassionally using 89 octane, I've always bit the price bullet and put
it 92/93 octane. I check the tires every 4-6 weeks. The car seems to
run fine. Any filters or other simple mechanicals we should check that
might make a difference?

No, I got rid of the Pilot Sports after 28k miles -- they were deathtraps
on any amount of snow and had irregular wear. I didn't notice a mileage
drop on my second set of tires, which were Pirelli Pzero Neros. Currently
I'm using Kumho Ecsta ASXs. TireRack.com considers these "Ultra High
Performance All-Season" tires but doesn't mention how they affect mileage.
