Hi,    We like to go for  weekend car trips but these leather seats are
so hard on one's fanny that it goes numb after a while and  is so
uncomfortable it really is painful.  I've tried sitting on a pillow but
it doesn't help.  Any suggestions?  Should I get those bead seat things
that cab drivers use?
Thanks very much for any help.

In my neck of the woods the word "fanny" is slang for vagina.  A guy
complaining of a numb c.nt really is quite funny.

I didn't want to be the one who pointed that out :)

Really? I've never had a seat so comfortable as the ones in Saabs. You
could get a form-fitting cushion thingy...

Any suggestions?

Hey Rory -
Try taking your head out your butt before you sit down. I expect you
already have those seat bead things...

Sure, his seat beads are hemorrhoids, also known as ginger bobbies -  that's
the reason for the discomfort.

Looks like another denizen has escaped from Trollhatten.

Seriously,

I've never owned a car with leather seats. Are leather seats (generally)
less comfortable than cloth ones?

It's not the seat covering - it's how the seat is constructed that matters
most. I use the butt test everytime - sit in it.

The leather seats in my 9-5 wagon are extremely comfortable, more so than my
previous BMW 528.
