I've never owned a car with leather seats. Are leather seats (generally)
less comfortable than cloth ones?

It's not the seat covering - it's how the seat is constructed that matters
most. I use the butt test everytime - sit in it.
The leather seats in my 9-5 wagon are extremely comfortable, more so than my
previous BMW 528.
