Managed to blow my gearbox last week :(

It's waiting on the ramp and we need another one ASAP. Can anyone out
there, preferably local (central Scotland) help me out??? It's for my
'96 Aero.

Cheers

Hi,

Uhmmm, no.  But many moons ago I got parts (for old 900s) from Howden le
Wear (County Durham, just south of Newcastle) from Boam Engineering.
Tel 01388-766205, if it still exists.

Nearer to you ... there is a SAAB specialist in Leith (mind you it is a
garage).  Sorry I never grasped the name.  I found it as I was driving
along the low road (nearest the Forth) from Leith towards the Forth
Bridge.  Probably 3-4 miles before I got to the new complex which has
Britannia.

I hope you find a g/box.

Charles

Thanks for your advice Charles. Finally bit the bullet today & ordered
the standard aero box from Neo Bros. There was talk of using other more
common boxes or even re-building, but I didn't have the confidence /
bottle to try.

cheers
