Access to outside mirror glass?

During storage, the glass in the two outside mirrors has gotten out of
place. Who knows how? The electric adjustment is at the end of its range
of movement, but the mirrors are still pointing to the rear windows, and
not the lane next to me.

The mirror heads are properly positioned on their bases, and not have
not been knocked out of position.

I have gently pushed with my thumb on each piece of glass, and as
expected, it will pop-pop-pop to a position nearer the proper one - but
not near enough.

I don't know what happened in there, but I guess I need to get inside
the housing, to see if the motors and glass mounts have gotten moved out
of place. I can't find the magic path to get access. I have the Official
Saab 900 Service Manual by Robert Bentley - several hundred pages and
quite good - but it doesn't touch this area.

Many thanks in advance

Bill

On the under side of the mirror housing, behind the glass, is an opening. Stick
a small
screwdrver inside and move it to the left, or right. That will unlock the glass
from the motors. Be ready to catch the glass when it pops off ... :-(

Many thanks, MH. I thought that was simply a weep hole. I'll try it today.
