Hi,
I have a intermittent noisy balance chain , that rattles once in a
while and then goes away.
Timing chain tensioner is still ok and timing chain itself appears in
good condition,I'm wondering if its OK to cut off the balance chain
from oil pan and drive without it.
Has anyone attempted it before? please share your experience  on how
was the resulting vibrations in the car, are these somewhat livable?
Car has 110K miles .

It's a very popular modification. Many Saab mechanics are known to do
it. I understand that there is very little working room to get at it
though.
