SUPERDAEMON - 24 Feb 2008 04:50 GMT
CD sound on my '97 900 SAAB SE started to sound  scratch while ago. it then
stopped working. i.e. when I push CD now, nothing happens, just like there
is no CD circuit. Where should I start trouble shooting ? where should I
look first? The 6 CD changer is in the trunk. I think I should look there
first?

Thanks.

Go into the trunk and unplug the cable. Leave it out for 24 hours.
Plug it back in. There's a little ring you have to twist to remove it
and there's no clearance at all - so you might want to unhook the
support box from the wall (a couple bolts) and take a good look at
least the first time.

Check the connector between the CD player and the cable in the trunk.
Connection could become bad.  Unplug the connector, spray some contact
cleaner on it and see if things improve.
