.............The problems with a 1998 9-5 are:
Airbag warning light stays on, steering wheel controls for radio etc and horn work only sometimes (seldom, tbh)
Is there a quick fix that will cure this?
Its the dreaded MOT time coming up soon, so i need the horn to work, but i have a feeling all the above are interconnected and
hopefully easy (ish) to fix.

Slip rings need sorting if that's what are used most likely ? Shouldn't be a big problem. I expect they just need cleaning.

If you can't, I'll take it off your hands for a modest sum ! ;~)

Graham,
If you want a 9-5 estate 2.0 lpt with a possible smoking turbo ...
something can be arranged for a lowish sum :-D

Sounds like a problem with the clock-spring or the wiring to it on
either side. My money would be on the clock-spring itself since, if
it's the same as the 9-3, the horn/audio wiring is on separate
connectors to the airbag wiring.
Of course, you might want to leave any jobs that involve handling the
airbag to someone else. I set one off once for a laugh and I decided
there and then, that I was going to try to avoid having any car
crashes in future!
Cheers,
Colin.
