My 97 SL2 was in for dealer service yesterday. They advised me that the
clutch is near going. Damn, and after only 191,000 miles! The symptom
that they referred was that at a standstill, it is sometimes difficult
to shift from neutral into first gear.
On the service ticket, they quote $1,097.00 parts and labor included.
That seems high. What is a reasonable rate in the Danbury, CT area (NYC
bedroom)?
Thanks,
JimR

I would do some searching about clutch problems for mine does that
also and I don't remember what I fould but it had something to do with
I believe linkage not the clutch for it was fine in all other gears. I
also read if you putit into 1st slowly it would work, which I tried
and yes it did work. Also you can always start in second but I would
search for mor info.

ouch! that is high. I would get an exact cost (labor and parts) breakdown
from Saturn then do some looking around. You don't have a warranty and a
clutch is a clutch.
