Power Steering Hose Routing (Larks 64-66')...64' ragtop

I just received my SI PS valve "return" hose....Looks much different
than what's on there.  The hose changed from 63' to 64',
and I might have a 63' on there...Anyway, the hose fitting I received
is "U-shaped".  My inclination is to install on the valve with the tube
curving "downward" and circling behind the valve-up to the pump.  Has
anybody looked at there 64-66' setup lately ?  Anyone got one on the
bench, all connected to confirm my guess?  Thanks...

Pictures of mine are in the files section at the Yahoo Stude site:
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/avanti/files/Power%20Steering%20Hoses/ .
Did you have the style that is straight instead of curved?  It's shown in
the parts books that way, to and from the pump.
In an Avanti, the curved ones run around the front of the steering box,
and up.  The straight ones were supposed to go up behind the box.

It's shown best in the "Frame Side" picture.  Return is #4, Red.
The pump hoses like these should curve up and forward, around the front of
the steering box, and up the fender apron.

JP....that pic showed the pump.  I'm referring to the valve.
Mike..I'm waiting on forum membership.  I'm a bit confused on Mike's
description (will soon see his pics).  I do have the straight fitting
shown in the manual.  I now have the curved or "J"-shaped line/fitting.
The threaded end will fit into the orifice in the front of the
valve...Does the metal line then run over (back over itself) or under
the valve ?

I got the pics, Mike......thanks

Sorry, I thought the link would go straight to the pics.  It did for me
because I was signed in.
Jack... Is the pressure hose on your car like the one in the picture, or
straight?  Did the pump hoses route up behind the steering box, or in front?
