One of my best friends is a custom painter, who also happenes to be a metal
artist with a website which I designed in trade for a '55 coupe paint job.
We decided it would probably be easiest to just partially dismantle the
car and let him do everything while I play more with the main body shell.
Reasonable plan, but it's sure depressing to take bits and pieces off a
running car that looked pretty good
Oh well- it'll be awesome when I get it back and now I'll get things done
that weren't done because I REALLY avoided taking panels off

It's going to be black- and pearl white for those who might care

Right now- it's an orphan *pout*

wellit's black and white now-- but the pearl white should be majorly cool
i considered  painting it screaming zonker jeffrice yellow-- but my wife
said she'd divorce me lol

I'll let you address her heathenism next time you see her.

Hey, while you have the front end off, make sure you spray some rust killer
into the double metal seam at the rear of those front fenders and seal them
up so as not to collect any more gunk.  Treat em and seal em.  Best
protection against rust I know of.

If you want it to last FOREVER, paint all hidden panels with POR15.  That
stuff is indestructible.

as long as it's not exposed to U.V.

well-to be honest- that's why i ssuggested to him  that I give it him
piecemeaal- so that I can find and fix or do preventive maintaince just
like that.

As much as i like the man who originally restored my coupe, he screwed a
whole bunch of things up- and left out a lot of fixes he could have made
which are causing me endless grief now

My grandson has already informed me he's getting both the c cab- and the
coupe when I croak--- so I guess i better do them right

Jerry's painting his '55 black and pearl white too?
i didn't know that lol

UV does not deteriate <sp?> the corrosion preventative properties of
POR15, it simply fades the surface to a chalky color.

When you say 'old fart' I know you're not talking about me, so I wont
respond. <G>
