I've come down on my asking proce for this car, and will consider all
offers.  It goes back up on eBay this weekend with this as the reserve
price.

Act now and you could be taking this car to South Bend!

1959 Studebaker Lark VIII, 2-Door Hard Top Regal for Sale

Located in Winthrop, Mass

$8,000 or best offer

I?m selling my 1959 Studebaker Lark.  We recently moved, lost our garage
and started a family, so my bachelor toy needs to go.

I inherited this car from my Uncle, who bought it new for my aunt in 1959
as a ?graduation present? from her driver?s education course.  She drove
it for about two weeks, before taking a corner a little too wide and
hitting a batch of garbage cans on the curb, denting the fender.  When she
got home and told my uncle about her accident with the new car, he lost
his temper and yelled and screamed at her.  My aunt remained calm however,
and responded in the way that only an Irish woman can.  ?Fine,? she said,
?If that?s the way you feel, I?ll never drive it again.?

She never did.

The car sat in their Los Angeles garage for the next 40 years, and was
only driven on trips (by my uncle).  It was in LA until 2000 when I had it
shipped to Massachusetts after they both passed away.  It has been garaged
since it arrived in Massachusetts, and never driven in the winter.  It has
about 102K miles on it.  The engine was rebuilt at about 80K miles.  It
has power steering and automatic transmission.  The car was repainted the
original Ermine white in 1990.  The bumpers were re-chromed at about the
same time.  It has split reclining front seats and a bench back seat, both
red vinyl.  Because it was a California car, it has no rust whatsoever.
The trim is in great shape, the electrical works perfectly.  The tires
have about 10K miles on them.  The title is clear.  The paint and chrome
are in excellent shape

The car is all-original, and even still has the push button AM radio in
the dash.  It has an oil filter located on top of the engine block that
takes a modern canister you can get at NAPA.  I have maintained this car
very well since I inherited it, with oil changes and lube jobs every 1,000
miles with Mobile 1.

This is a fairly rare car.  It?s a V-8 engine, AT and PS with a 2-door
hard top in the highest ?Regal? trim level, just dripping with chrome.

Problems: There is a small dent on the underside of the driver?s side
rocker panel.  There is a small hole on the top of the driver?s side
seat.  There is a 1-inch split in the vinyl of the dashboard.  It leaks a
small amount of oil, about 1 quart per year, mostly over the road.  It
leaks a small amount of transmission fluid, again, about 1 quart per year,
again, mostly over the road.  The AM radio does not work (needs some new
tubes).

It comes with a shop manual, full-size spare tire,  four new replacement
oil filters, spare set of headlight bulbs, spare set of NOS spark plugs,
grease gun, original owner's manual, and the normal box of small parts.
It has a new distributor cap and rotor, new battery, new water pump, shock
absorbers, spark plugs, and new tail pipe.  The exhaust is in perfect
shape.  It has a sealed coolant system.
