It is not an easy task. All the original
paint must be removed, and sadley the
gold you want to change to silver is in
the lower part of the casting. I don't
know of any solvents that would remove
the paint without danaging the casting,
MEK..Toluline, and the paint solvent
will ruin the casting at time of
application.
You cold use DOT 3 Brake Fluid to see if
it removes the paint. We used brake
fluid for years withe excellent results
but it left scaring where ther two
paints met.
Weaver Models in Northumberland Pa makes
a paint remover $22 a pint that might
do it but it slao might damage the
wyite/clear casting.
