Any recomendations for places to stay for the Sasco meet? We are staying at the Motel 6 in SB seened a pretty decent place last year reasonable prices. MOTEL 6 52624 US ROUTE 31, SOUTH BEND, IN 46601 Phone: (574) 272-7072 Joel LaRue 1958 Champion 1961 Champ 1962 Champ Jerry Forrestor and me are staying at the Our Lady of Perpetual Motion Mobile Worship Chapel. I usually stay at Motel 6. It's cheap (me too) and clean and when you're asleep a 35 dollar room looks exactly like a 100 dollar room. I'm arriving friday Anyone know who's in charge of vending spots at the fairgrounds? Joel LaRue 1961 Champ 1962 Champ 1958 Champion The Drake on S side is a cheap "rag head ritz" type place which is OK sometimes, but tends to get noisy trash in there sometimes also. Last year, to escape the noise at The Drake, I moved over to The South Bend Motel, & got a bunch of loud blacks near me that were just as bad as the rowdies at the Drake. Both of those places are more convenient than the N side motels, which tend to be better. > By the way see you all there. I'm taking the Suburban and trailer to cart home the motor/tranny that Calvin's bringing me from Fla; I think that the od might be sticking out back pretty far if I tried to jamb the engine into the trunk of the Lark! I like the sounds of the "Steak and Ale" restaurant at (or next to?) the Days Inn; especially the Ale part! Can you get that good "Molson Export Ale" in South Bend? LETS EAT ! ! And, have a beer. What about "Molson Export Ale"? You guys have any of that good stuff down there? I don't suppose that if I brought down a box (or 2), anyone would venture to taste some of that exotic stuff from north of the border? (I'm talkin the 49th parallel!) Ive never had the stuff..Usually haul the cheap stuff Natural Lite..In case I have to throw it out to make room for STUDE parts :-) |
