I've been e-mailing Ross about these parts. They shouldn't go to the
crusher. We should try to effect a save. I don't think buying single
items is what is wanted here. Be able to pick up a large percentage of
the parts, or buy later from the person able to get a U-Haul, and
storage and haul 'em off. I haven't pinned down a price yet. Hopefully
it's cheap, because the price of fuel for the guys coming from a
distance is going to hurt. There is a time restraint that will have to
be spelled out. It seems the guy has a nice '56 President sedan and a
'56 Commander parts car. Don't know if it's a vice-president, or a
Classic. Here is someones chance at evil vendor status.

1- more bakers rack. Piled with lens's, headlight buckets & rings,
gasket sets, and mort (some

stuff on this rack may be as
well. There is a 4 Cyl long block on ground near by, looks like
Austen.)
1-pile of AxeIs.(I2--) I saw this some time ago, now the area is
covered in stuff I assume they
are still there, but not sura
This part I will describe the best I can, from the quick look I had,
One room (dry) hill of 55 gal drums, the old re-sealable metal kinds. I
believe there was 6 or 8.
looked into two of the drums One was Fill of generators, starters, and
had at least one flywheel on the top layer, but looked to be most all
starters & gen' s. I pulled three units out, they appeared to be
rebuilt, clean, painted, new brush's, bright and under cut
commentators. The hole drum was bone dry, and all contents looked clean
and paintei The second drum was Ml of various electrical stuff. I saw
many small boxes, points, etc. Distributors and other unknown at
bottom. Now the owner has told me on many occasions that they bought
the inventory of a local parts vendor, and fellow collector about 20
years ago, and that is where these drums came from. The current owner
said the drums are hill of "good new stuff' like what I saw. This
room has several shelf's and racks stacked with Snide stuW of which I
did not note. The room is packed.
There is one other room that has a good amount of stuff in it as welL I
saw about 6 box's, and other loose tie rod ends, carbs, fuel pumps,
water pumps, and pump housings, starters, generators, relays, dash
pieces, and more I don't recall..
There is more scattered about. Motor pans, trans parts, headlight rings
& buckets, brake drum's, boxes, God only knows. That is all I recall,
and or made note of at this time

Hope this worked (the scan).....This could be a gold mine, or just a
noble thing. I am willing to make one turn around with my full size
Dodge and 20' car hauler. It would take some trust and planning if we
split this up. Can anyone help??????   KM

I'm trying to do just that - if I can get out there today and work a
deal I'll have it all moved to my warehouse until I can sort through it.
Gonna be complicated, I'll be out of the country in a week and I'll have
to move fast.

Thanks all. Once again, I am impressed by the Studebaker club folk. It
maybe my frugal nature, but I see treasures worth saving, where others
may see scrap. Looking forward to meeting Pat this afternoon.
Later.
Ross.

Pat, I don't have a need for any of the parts unless there is M series stuff
there but I can show up with my full size pickup and a 18' car hauler. It'll
take me all day to get there but I'm retired so I pretty much have my time to
myself.   Fred

Thanks, Fred - you guys are the greatest.

I went out and saw the stuff, it's the biggest 'grab bag' I've ever
encountered. I struck a deal and will get the stuff moved this week.
I've got a couple of guys lined up and an 18" box truck with a power
liftgate, so it should go pretty well.

I won't be able to get into the stuff until after SB, but I'm excited to
find out what treasures might be in those barrels.....

Thanks Pat. We enjoyed meeting you and your wife. Knowing this stuff is
going is a big weight off for my neighbor.  She seemed pleased, and
relieved.

Congrats, Pat...and thanks for what you've done for Ross, his buddy,
the hobby, and all of us who may need parts in the future.

Time to resize the "Studebaker Cage" in the warehouse? <g>

Pat Drnec - 25 Apr 2005 15:05 GMT
Yeah, where to put it all? I think I'll have to install some pallet
racks along one wall, and some of the longer term project cars will have
to go outside under covers for a little while.

That's exactly what Lee DeLaBarre did in his barn.
Worked out slick, too.
