Shop related.....

My 60 gallon Sears oiless direct drive air compressor decided to bust a
piston a while back.
Was using the smaller backup compressor from the garage to fill in.
All the while I have been shopping deals.
Well, today one hit me when I wasn't looking.
Home Depot had an unannounced managers sale going on and I had a 10% off any
purchase discount coupon.
I said I would take it right here tight now if he would allow the two to be
used together.
He said OK and put his okeedokey on the slip.
And at the checkout I asked them to be sure to mark it down as 6 months same
as cash.
7hp 13.5cfm something or other... Cast iron block. Made in USA.
Out with that danged airless direct drive hearing wrecker...
(I may see if I can toss a piston in it and sell it for a few bucks. It
looks like brand new)...
Going to hook it up tonight and grind/blast away all weekend.

Hopefully I'm getting mine hooked up tomorrow too, gotta have a friend come
over and run a new circuit for it... I don't mess with breaker boxes.  I got
mine at Harbor Freight... a US General brand
(http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=3848), I
bought it reconditioned for $329.  I saw one in Lowe's for about the same
regular price and it looked identical with just a different label on it.  I
won't be grinding all weekend, but I will try and find something to
beadblast with my new counter top model.

Hope you didn't get the same one I got from them afew years back. . . power
sanders keeps the compressor running and after about 10 minutes you got to
stop and let the compressor catch up.  Have it at the body shop and it's
coming back home soon because we got a much of new one in to retire the old
ones including mine. Garge sale is coming up!

Dunno, But knowing my luck with compressors, anything is possible.
13.5 cfm and 100% duty cycle.
Hooked this one up a half hour ago and it filled the tank right quick.
Had to come in to get my glasses to read the microprint instructions.
Glad I did as I already put the wrong oil in it.
They say to run synthetic Mobil 1 oil (30 wt) and NOT 10w30 automotive oil.
They say it will clog up and shorten component life.
Man, the thing sure puts out some heat. The whole top of the tank is pretty
warm.
Probably will settle down after a few cycles.

Disregard the "7.0 peak HP".

What is the AC power requirement? That will tell the tale.

Beats me Gordon.
It turns on and air comes out the hose...<g>...

Sounds great (literally).

Just make sure you follow the 6 months same as cash deal to the letter.
Some companies hide the finale date in the fine print and it is not
exactly 6 months from the purchase date. If you miss that day, they hit
you with all 6 months interest at a high rate.

Good point Alex, and I have experienced that very thing with Lowe's...and we
were NOT late, but had made an additional purchase and they decided to mix
things up, payment wise.
Shell games, once started, are hard to keep track of.....
